Sustainable furniture from Tranås tackles health challenges
The Health Innovation Campus at Lancaster University will majorly contribute to tackling some of the significant health challenges we face today. 8,000 square metres on four floors have been furnished by EFG UK with carefully selected furniture by European Furniture Group to harmonise with the building’s design, sustainability requirements and need for high quality.
The chair Archie for instance, is made from PC/ABS plastic which can be 100 % recycled while maintaining its quality. The upholstered versions are manufactured with no less than 50 % recycled material. The filling in Archie meets the Nordic Ecolabel’s tough environmental standards. And only FSC® certified wood from responsible forestry is used in Archie’s wooden frame.
The Mingle sofa is also a particularly important part of the delivery – an innovative and very flexible sofa system, available as stand-alone or connectable.
”It is exciting to see the Health Innovation Campus open its doors as a physical hub which brings together industry, academic and healthcare partners. The new campus is built on the foundations of collaboration, co-design and co-production, aimed at developing sustainable solutions for some of the most important health and care challenges in the region.”
