Flokk co-creates a sustainability hub for ’Grownups’

Nøstet Bergen is a co-share office in the heart of Bergen, Norway’s second-largest city, designed by MAD arkitekter and furnished by Flokk.  The office is started to attract and invigorate companies with a particular focus on sustainability.

Flokk is the Norwegian word for ‘flock’, which in its most basic terms means a group or a gathering. But it can be much more than that. A flokk is synonymous with a group, defined by a common idea or goal. It’s about being part of something greater than yourself while fulfilling your personality and identity.

And that is exactly the beauty of a co-working space at its best. In this case, the idea was to gather like-minded businesses to share ideas, innovate, and create a more sustainable future.

The ambition for Nøstet Bergen is to be a hive of innovation, the perfect environment to work, network, collaborate and cross-pollinate within the field of sustainability.

Nøstet Bergen had three direct criteria when it came to all aspects of the project – high quality, design and sustainability – and this included choosing furniture. After a rigorous selection process, Mad Architects and Nøstet AS decided to work with Flokk to find the best solutions to meet their seating needs. As leaders when it comes to sustainably designed office furniture, Flokk was a natural partner for the project.

“We wanted to show that sustainability can be the main driver for making a concept. The main reason for choosing Flokk was their strong role as creative advisors guiding us in the right direction. Always positive, forthcoming, and dedicated.”
Svein Roger Selle, co-founder Nøstet Bergen and CEO, Selle & Partners
